A New Year’s Message

A fresh year has started, but first I would like to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve realized last year. Being data agnostic is one of the cornerstones of the Algorhythm strategy. This ensures we can provide our customers the best possible solution for their reporting needs so they can take data-driven decisions.

To achieve this goal, we’ve obtained more in-depth experience in the most familiar BI tools on the market, such as Tableau, Power BI, TIBCO Spotfire, … We’ve shared this information with you through some best practices and tips & tricks. I am very proud of our team for their commitment to write very interesting stories on this blog!

On top of that, besides our project work, we showcased our knowledge of several BI tools by making a decision matrix, teaching students about data visualization and supporting our customers by assessing their environment on BI standards and guidelines.

In 2022, we will continue to drive our strategy by unlocking the power of new technologies and insights. Some trends we will further explore:

  • Evolution of the industry 4.0, streaming analytics will become more and more important to facilitate reporting needs in a fast-changing environment. It allows companies to provide real time insights based on Internet of Things (IoT) data, transactions, cloud applications, mobile devices and machine sensors.
  • The different cloud vendors showed us the benefits of moving to a cloud infrastructure, but we must also be cautious not to end up in a siloed data landscape. The amount of data is increasing year-over-year and it resides in different systems such as spreadsheets, cloud applications, social media, local databases, … so we must ensure that we don’t lose track of our insights. A concept such as data virtualization could bring a solution: the data will be exposed in a unified layer for reporting without data replication. This avoids a scattered view of the data.
  • Embedded analytics is the integration of analytical content within applications, such as business process applications (e.g. CRM, ERP) or portals (e.g. intranets or extranets) and even ensures interactive functionality on mobile devices.
  • And much more to come…

To wrap up, it will be another challenging year to explore these innovative technologies. Off course, we will keep on writing new interesting blog stories so stay tuned for more “insightful” content.

Wishing you all the best,

David Vandecraen
